We have recently introduced a new S5P6818 Development Board based on Samsung’s application processor, intended for embedded Linux evaluation and early-stage product development.
The board is built around the S5P6818 SoC with an ARM Cortex-A53 multi-core CPU, providing a practical hardware platform for evaluating embedded and multimedia applications.
To support common development requirements, the board integrates a range of standard interfaces, including display output, Ethernet, USB, audio, camera interface, and storage support, along with expansion headers for GPIO and peripheral extension. This allows developers to verify both hardware functionality and software stacks without designing a custom baseboard.
During internal validation, the development board has been used to test bootloader setup, Linux kernel bring-up, and basic peripheral drivers. Standard development workflows such as system configuration, driver integration, and application debugging are supported.
From a hardware design standpoint, the board layout focuses on usability in development environments. Key interfaces are directly accessible, and reserved expansion connectors provide flexibility for further system extension and customization.
